PSEG Services Corporation seeks multiple FT Sr. Software Engineers (Salem, NJ). Involved in the full systems life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting application software and systems. Analyze end-user needs and designs, develop and test software to satisfy demand. Perform build versus buy analysis for business demand. Partner with business analysts to translate business requirements to application requirements. Evaluate existing applications and platforms and provide recommendations for improving application performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications. Create process flowcharts, diagrams, and other related documentation; develop technical workflows using different modeling techniques. Collaborate with enterprise architects and infrastructure to integrate applications and hardware. Ensure that the design and application implementation meet security and QA standards. Suggest fixes to issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect. Analyze application reports to ensure that the functionality and performance meets all product and service level requirements. Code applications using a disciplined development process. Provide daily support with resolution of escalated tickets. Apply operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities until permanent solutions can be implemented. Support and participate in the software deployment process for new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment. Document functions and change to new or modified modules and test activities/results. Make modules production-ready by moving them to libraries, completing forms, following procedures, completing version control documents, etc.

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Science, or related field, and 6 years of work experience in web and software development. Must have 6 years of experience in the following: technical and functional experience in the development and support of IT systems; experience with one or more of the following technologies: .NET, FileNet, WebLogic, Oracle Application Server, IIS, Tomcat, MSSQL, Oracle SQL, OSI PI, IBM WebSphere; experience with translating business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements; experience with business and system process flow techniques using UML (e.g. Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams); experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall; experience creating both technical and non-technical end-user documentation. Must be available for 24x7 coverage for nuclear application support when needed, as well as for assignment for 24x7 scheduled coverage during for Nuclear refueling outages. Scheduled remote work allowed in conjunction with required in office days in Salem, NJ. Must have legal authority to work in U.S. EEOE. Salary offered: $153,358.00 Standard company benefits.
