Power Generation Dispatcher

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Compensation: $70,000 per year (Full-Time)

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Power Generation Dispatcher to join our Bridgeport, Connecticut operation. This critical role is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and dispatching field service technicians to industrial diesel generator jobs across the region. You will act as the communication hub between customers, technicians, and the operations team to ensure efficient, timely, and professional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule, dispatch, and manage daily assignments for field service technicians working on industrial diesel generators, ATS units, and switchgear(link removed)>
  • Maintain technician schedules and route assignments to ensure optimal efficiency based on geography, skill level, and job urgency.
  • Communicate with customers to confirm appointment times, gather job details, and provide updates on technician arrival.
  • Track job progress and respond to delays, last-minute changes, and emergency service calls with professionalism and urgency.
  • Enter work orders into the dispatching system and maintain accurate job status records throughout the service process.
  • Coordinate with service managers and parts departments to ensure technicians are equipped with the proper tools, parts, and documentation.
  • Review daily reports to ensure job completion, follow-up needs, and documentation requirements are met.
  • Serve as the liaison between the service team and customers to ensure high-quality communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor GPS or field service tracking tools to ensure timely arrivals and effective job coverage.
  • Help ensure compliance with safety standards, DOT regulations, and company protocols.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, or service coordinationpreferably in the power generation, HVAC, construction, or heavy equipment industries(link removed)>
  • Familiarity with diesel generators, power systems, or related technical services is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving parts under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
  • Proficient in dispatching or field service management software (e.g., ServiceMax, Salesforce Field Service, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard office tools.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems in real time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or technical degree a plus.
