Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help manage, standardize, and evolve our Azure cloud platform and CI/CD pipelines. This role is hands-on and platform-focused, responsible for provisioning and maintaining our Azure environment, supporting development teams, and building reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation to enable self-service and consistency across environments.

Beyond platform ownership, this person acts as a senior technical resource and escalation point for the team. When application issues arise, they help determine whether the root cause sits at the Azure platform, the build/deployment pipeline, the network, or the application code itself, and drive it to resolution. They also mentor junior engineers and ensure our architecture follows cloud and security best practices.

�� Key Responsibilities

Own and manage the Azure cloud environment, ensuring availability, security, and performance.
Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules to provide standardized, reusable infrastructure patterns.
Enable developer self-service through IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and platform automation.
Manage and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters, including deployment patterns, permissions, identity integration, and operational best practices.
Mentor and develop junior engineers through pairing, code/design review, and documentation.
Review architecture and designs to ensure adherence to Azure cloud best practices.
Support identity and access management integrations (e.g., Okta, Entra ID, or other IdPs).
Manage networking, DNS, and SSL/TLS certificates supporting applications.
Support on-premises Windows/IIS-hosted applications as needed.
Contribute to security best practices, including least privilege, secrets management, and secure infrastructure design.
Continuously improve automation, observability, and operational maturity.
Document platform standards, patterns, and operational runbooks.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for application and infrastructure deployments.
Implement and support Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and participate in DR planning/testing.
Serve as a senior escalation point for cross-layer troubleshooting across infrastructure, pipelines, networks, and application code.
Troubleshoot at the code level when needed, with understanding of .NET and React applications, stack traces, and APM/observability tooling.

Cloud & Platform (strong, hands-on):

10+ years in IT/engineering, with at least 4 years in DevOps/Cloud/Platform Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (AKS, App Services, IAM/Entra ID, governance).
Solid understanding of Azure best practices and cloud architecture fundamentals.
Experience with Terraform (reusable modules, managing state, environment separation).
Strong experience with PowerShell (Bash/Python a plus) for automation and system management.
Strong experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
Experience operating and supporting AKS (application deployment, container fundamentals, identity/permission integration).
Strong grasp of cloud and application security best practices (least privilege, secrets management, authentication/authorization).
Experience integrating/managing identity providers such as Okta (or equivalent IdP).
Understanding of SDLC including build, test, release, and promotion of applications.
Networking, Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

Working understanding of cloud and general networking.
Knowledge of DNS fundamentals.
Experience managing SSL/TLS certificates.
Familiarity with APM and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, etc.).
Some experience supporting on-premises Windows/IIS applications.
Strong cross-layer troubleshooting skills spanning applications, infrastructure, network, and cloud services, including ability to read .NET and React code and follow stack trace
