Maintenance Assistant III (Non-Career)The Port of Long Beach is seeking three (3) Maintenance Assistant III (Non-Career) employees to join the Custodial Team. These positions support the maintenance and cleanliness of Port-owned facilities by performing a variety of routine and semi-skilled custodial and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining offices, restrooms, break rooms, and other Port facilities; performing floor care such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning; restocking custodial supplies; assisting with facility moves and special projects; and helping maintain safe, clean, and functional work environments throughout the Port.The selected candidate may work up to 29 hours/week. Non-Career employees are allowed a maximum of 1,600 work hours in a year for a maximum of two (2) years. The assignment may end at any time, but under no circumstances will it extend beyond two years. Non-Career employees are considered temporary, at-will employees who are not typically eligible for benefits.
