Oakland County is seeking a contract AI Specialist (hybrid) to coordinate AI pilots, strengthen governance, and support responsible AI adoption across County departments. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on program support to ensure the successful and ethical deployment of enterprise AI tools.

• AI Pilot & Outcomes Management: Coordinate AI pilots, establish success criteria, and track outcomes. Help departments identify high-value AI opportunities and share successful practices.
• Governance & Compliance: Maintain and mature the County's AI governance framework in partnership with cybersecurity and other stakeholders.
• Resource Management: Maintain a Countywide inventory of AI tools, vendors, pilots, and use cases. Manage access, licensing, token consumption, and costs for enterprise AI platforms.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate AI vendors, deliverables, demonstrations, and issue resolution.
• Training & Enablement: Lead AI Communities of Practice and departmental AI champions. Coordinate onboarding, training, guidance, and support for AI users.
• Reporting & Analytics: Track adoption, costs, business value, and measurable efficiency gains. Develop executive dashboards and provide regular updates to County leadership.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing technology initiatives or enterprise software projects.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, privacy, cybersecurity, and responsible AI practices.
• Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Public-sector experience is highly preferred.
