Reporting to the VP-Pre-Access. The AVP-Pre Access is responsible for administering, coordinating and reviewing the performance of the Insurance Authorization function and is responsible for performance and effectiveness of the department(s). The AVP-Pre Access will be responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to improve processes, promote operational efficiency enhance the patient experience and meet regulatory compliance guidelines. This requires active engagement and collaboration with operational, Senior leadership and staff. The AVP-Pre Access will work closely with the other leadership and staff to align policies and processes across the entire organization. Travel may be required.

  • Proven project management experience
  • Ability to provide vision, leadership and operational oversight for Insurance Authorizations across the ministry.
  • Responsible for centralizing and/or standardizing authorization processes across the system while establishing positive, collaborative relationships with operational leaders in each market.
  • Ability to actively lead and/or participate in modernizing Insurance Authorization.
  • Ability to organize functions through establishing clear accountabilities, delegation of duties and appropriate departmentalization without creating silos.
  • Ensures staff are aware and compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc.
  • Actively focus on activities that support employee engagement, including coaching & mentoring
  • Performs other duties as assigned
