<u> <li><b>Under close supervision, processes payments and provides accounting support functions; processes payments, and prepares reports of accounting transactions, according to HAMC policies and procedures. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.</b></li> </ul> <ul> <li><b>Processes timely and accurate payments and accounting transactions in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and HAMC rules, regulations, and procedures.</b></li> <li><b>Reviews source documents for compliance to rules and regulations; determines proper handling of payments and technical transactions within designated limits.</b></li> <li><b>Checks documents for validity and accuracy of information; collects, records, files, and distributes related paperwork.</b></li> <li><b>Maintains information system database, including landlord and tenant data and vendor information.</b></li> <li><b>Reconciles landlord and tenant payment agreements and processes landlord and tenant payments as directed.</b></li> <li><b>Maintain Schedules as assigned.</b></li> <li><b>Assist in the gathering of information for audits.</b></li> <li><b>Research and resolve issues associated with purchase and payment documents. </b></li> <li><b>Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.</b></li> <li><b>Assist in month end closing.</b></li> <li><b>Respond to vendor inquiries.</b></li> <li><b>Maintains records and files associated with payment tracking system; prepares statements and journal entries; reconciles transactions and data according to policies; collects data and compiles data for reports; and ensures the accuracy of the payment records. </b></li> <li><b>Works with staff to resolve landlord and/or tenant issues.</b></li> <li><b>Maintains proper filing of documents, supporting information, invoices and all other required documentation and adheres to record retention requirements.</b></li> <li><b>Maintains file integrity and confidentiality by adhering to policies and procedures.</b></li> <li><b>Establishes and maintains vendor relationships.</b></li> <li><b>Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records and HAMC information.</b></li> <li><b>Explains nature of HAMC programs, procedures, and services to clients; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records and HAMC information.</b></li> <li><b>Supports the relationship between HAMC and the constituent population by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and HAMC staff.</b></li> <li><b>Performs other related duties as assigned. </b></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><b><u>Skills Required:</u></b></p> <u> <li><b>Understanding of standard accounting policies and procedures applicable to government and non-profit agencies.</b></li> <li><b>Knowledge of principles of record keeping and records management.</b></li> <li><b>Intermediate Microsoft Excel user; proficiency in other Microsoft products.</b></li> <li><b>Skill in principles and practices of accounting and mathematical computations.</b></li> <li><b>Skill in data entry with high levels of accuracy and productivity.</b></li> <li><b>Skill in maintaining accurate accounting records, and identifying, analyzing, and reconciling errors. </b></li> <li><b>Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.</b></li> <li><b>Skill in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.</b></li> <li><b>Yardi experience is required.</b></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><b><u>Experience Required:</u></b><b> </b></p> <u> <li><b>Associate degree in accounting or business;</b></li> <li><b>AND one (1) year of accounting experience; </b></li> <li><b>public agency experience is preferred; </b></li> <li><b>OR equivalent combination of education and experience. </b></li> <li><b>Valid Arizona Driver's License with good driving record required.</b></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><b><u>Education Required:</u></b></p> <u> <li><b>Associate degree in accounting or business;</b></li> <li><b>AND one (1) year of accounting experience;</b></li> <li><b>public agency experience is preferred;</b></li> <li><b>OR equivalent combination of education and experience.</b></li> <li><b>Valid Arizona Driver's License with good driving record required.</b></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><b><u>Additional Information:</u></b></p> <p> </p> <p><b><u>Physical Ability:</u></b></p> <ul> <li><b>Some tasks involve some physical effort, for example, some standing and walking, or frequent light lifting (1-10 pounds); </b></li> <li><b>Or minimal dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs, or body in the operation of shop of office equipment.</b></li> <li><b>Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.</b></li> <li><b>Environmental Factors: Work is performed in an office environment; </b></li> <li><b>Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g. dirt, cold, rain, fumes).</b></li> </ul> <p> </p>
