Your Role

Reporting to the VP of Product and Clinical Systems, the QA Lead will be responsible for establishing the overall testing strategy for the company. This includes defining and implementing testing methodologies, selecting appropriate testing tools and frameworks, and setting quality standards. You should have a strong background in automation testing and will be responsible for designing and implementing test automation frameworks that support the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines of each Scrum team.

As the QA lead, you will work closely with each team to provide the necessary training and support to enable them to implement the established QA strategy and execute tests autonomously. This could involve knowledge sharing sessions, one-on-one coaching, or leading by example in the initial phase.

You will facilitate communication between the QA members of each Scrum team. This can help share learnings, avoid duplication of work, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

In addition to strategic responsibilities, as the QA lead, you will also carry out hands-on testing. This could involve writing and executing test cases, performing exploratory testing, and creating automated test scripts. This will require the QA Lead to have strong technical skills and an in-depth understanding of the application under test.

As a part of their strategic responsibilities, you will still be responsible for selecting and maintaining the testing tools used by the organization, while also being a key user of these tools, providing valuable feedback on their effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Given the dual nature of this role, you will need to effectively balance your time between strategic work (e.g., developing policies, coordinating with teams) and tactical work (e.g., performing tests, writing test cases). This will require strong time management and prioritization skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a QA lead or similar role in a software development setting.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proficiency in QA methodologies and tools, and agile methodologies.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with test automation, including the use of tools and frameworks like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
  • Strong technical skills, including a minimum of 2 years of proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and communication skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud-based environments (AWS) and CI/CD processes.
  • Exceptional knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory standards.
  • ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) or CSTE (Certified Software Tester) certification, preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance Strategy and Policy: Develop, implement, and manage the overall quality assurance strategy and policy for the company.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Lead in the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts. This includes both manual and automated testing.
  • Test Automation: Design and implement a robust test automation framework. Develop automated test scripts and integrate them into our continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • QA Training and Enablement: Provide QA training to all scrum teams, enabling them to understand and execute the QA strategy effectively.
  • Quality Standards: Define quality standards, controls, and metrics. Monitor these metrics to identify areas of improvement and drive actions to enhance quality.
  • Cross-Team Communication: Foster communication between QA members of all scrum teams, ensuring learnings are shared, duplication of work is avoided, and a culture of continuous improvement is nurtured.
  • Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot QA issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Document testing processes, test results, and generate detailed reports for the management team.

  • Full-time opportunity
