Quality Inspector- CONTRACT TO HIRE

Location: New Mexico

Rate: open, depending on experience

Duration: Long term contract, possibility to convert to direct

Reports to: Quality Supervisor

Qualify Inspector: Position Summary (Main Purpose of the Role)

Seeking a senior level experienced quality inspector to join our dynamic Team. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. If you have a great attitude and a creative mind, then you will feel right at home in this organization! The candidate must have a desire to learn something new, enthusiasm for the new space industry and be able to mix existing aerospace experience with spaceline inspection development. You will find yourself amongst the best and brightest while being part of a pioneering organization. Mojave, CA test flight facility location.

Quality Inspector : Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection and analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of structures products to design and customer requirements.
  • Perform receiving, in-process production, and final assembly inspections and provide objective evidence of results in accordance with QMS requirements.
  • Communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with engineering, management and production personnel to convey product acceptance criteria and inspection results.
  • Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required within the TIPQA.
  • Comply with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.

Quality Inspector: Basic Qualifications

  • A&P license required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong knowledge of composites manufacturing required
  • Must have: composites inspection experience in a production environment
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and other relevant aerospace industry standards.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft tools, CATIA, 2D and 3D drawings or computer-generated models or other similar types of engineering data.
  • Basic math and technical writing skills.
  • Proven hands-on inspection experience in the aerospace industry using a variety of precision measurement tools.
  • GD&T comprehension through experience and/or formal training.
  • In depth understanding of the inspection techniques and quality issues associated with composites.
  • Attention to detail and follow through.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel.

Quality Inspector: Suggestions for Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Must have knowledge of day-to-day operations of an aerospace production manufacturer facility experience.

Must be able to execute the company's vision for quality and interact with other leadership throughout the organization.

Physical and/or Additional Requirements

  • Perform physical requirements of the position, including use of inspection hand tools, NDT equipment, lift up to 50 lbs., pass eye examination
  • Willing to work overtime, all shifts, travel and be on-call as necessary

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
