After, eighteen years with the City of Brinkley, I decided to retire and not run for another term. After retiring I had a hard time finding private insurance that did not take up half of my retirement check. Not being Medicare age, I had to find a job with insurance. I cancelled my retirement and went to work for APERS.August 15, 1994-April 2, 2004Partee Elementary School, Brinkley Public School System, Brinkley, Arkansas.I was hired as a paraprofessional (teaching assistant). I worked with pre-school through fourth grade students helping them with social skills, reading, math and basic computer skills. A couple of years before I left the school, paraprofessionals had to pass a Praxis like test for Parapros to keep their jobs. I took the test at East Arkansas Community College and passed it with a grade of 100%. I tried to find it online and I got word that it has expired. But, I am still proud of the grade.
