• Title: Data Architect

Our client, a personal finance startup, is seeking a Data Architect to join their team. The person in this role will oversee the development/maintenance of our Enterprise Data Platform, which includes a cutting-edge Serverless Data Lake, a robust Cloud Data Warehouse, and essential data/application pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design/build scalable data platforms considering business needs, industry trends, and AWS capabilities
• Be conversant with solutions such as Redshift, DBT, GLUE, and LAMBDA for SaaS solutions. Plan for data redundancy, backup, and disaster recovery
• Design/implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence
• Design/implement data integration and migration strategies - leverage AWS services like GLUE for ETL processes and Lambda for real-time data processing
• Be responsible for data platform performance, ensuring the system performs optimally
• Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data in the cloud environment - understand and adhere to data compliance laws and regulations relevant to the organization's industry
• Mentor/guide junior team members and stakeholders on data architecture and AWS cloud services
• Manage relationships with AWS and other technology vendors - evaluate new technologies and services as they become available to determine their usefulness and applicability to the organization's data strategy
• Oversee the execution of data architecture-related projects including planning, coordinating with other teams and stakeholders, tracking progress, resolving issues, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Develop training material and conduct training sessions to enhance the team's understanding and proficiency in AWS cloud services and data architecture

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering (with a focus on data architecture and cloud-based solutions)
• Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering (or a related field)
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing scalable data platforms and architectures, preferably in a cloud environment (AWS)
• Extensive experience with AWS services including but not limited to Redshift, DBT, GLUE, and LAMBDA
• Proficient in SQL and at least 1 programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Extensive understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, data modeling, data governance, and data quality management
• Experience with data security and privacy standards and understanding of compliance-related requirements
• Knowledge of performance tuning for data management systems
