Job TitleSenior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Job title:
Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer (FEA)
Your role:

Lead mechanical structure design for superconducting magnets and gradient coils of MRI systems, ensuring compliance with performance, quality, cost, and safety standards.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to assess the structural integrity, stress distribution, and thermal behavior of components within superconducting magnets and gradient coils.
Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including electromagnetic designers, physicists, and technicians, to seamlessly integrate magnet and gradient coil systems into MRI machines.
Develop and execute FEA models to optimize magnet and gradient coil designs, emphasizing magnetic field homogeneity, stability, cost-efficiency, and energy efficiency.
Perform structural analyses and simulations to identify potential design weaknesses and propose improvements for enhanced reliability and manufacturability.
Generate and maintain comprehensive design documentation, encompassing FEA reports, schematics, specifications, testing procedures, and test reports.
Identify and resolve mechanical issues during both the development and manufacturing phases, utilizing FEA data to facilitate design enhancements.
Participate actively in prototype testing and validation, making necessary design adjustments based on FEA results and test outcomes.
Ensure strict adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols governing superconducting magnet and gradient coil systems.
Offer technical expertise and guidance to fellow engineers and team members on mechanical analysis and FEA methodologies. Provide technical expertise and guidance to other engineers and team members on mechanical analysis and FEA methodologies.
You're the right fit if:

Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in mechanical analysis and structural simulation, with a strong emphasis on finite element analysis (FEA).
Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, APDL) and demonstrated experience in modeling and analyzing complex mechanical systems.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, stress analysis, and material properties.
Demonstrated capability in structural optimization and design for manufacturability.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with quality control processes and industry standards in medical device manufacturing.
Self-motivated, goal-driven, and proficient in time management.
Desired

Capacity for finite element analysis (FEA) simulations on the electromagnetic performance of superconducting magnets and components is a plus.
Knowledge of superconducting materials and cryogenics is a plus.
Familiarity with the manufacturing processes and properties of composite materials is a plus.
Knowledge of machining methods and process is a plus.
