Job Summary:

This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial gears are turning smoothly, supporting the company's growth in the sustainable mobility space. We strive to use technology to make all operations tasks as efficient as possible. As our Senior Accountant, you will be accountable to our CFO and be responsible for handling all aspects of the in-house financial management function from refining our financial technology use and processes to implementing internal control improvements and preparing monthly reports to reconciling accounts and preparing AJEs. You will also have a key hand in identifying cost reduction opportunities using spend analysis to support our mission and growth. You must be tech savvy and comfortable to work with various SaaS systems and have advanced Excel skills. We’re also looking for someone passionate about ebikes and urban mobility, and excited about changing the fabric of urban transportation.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using our accounting and other support software for process automation (i.e. RAMP, Cin7 Core, QBO and SalesForce).
- Efficiently manage inventory and fixed assets, oversee purchase order and invoice processing, IMS functions, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial records.
- Reconcile our revenue activity.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Track actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis. Contribute insights for budget adjustments as needed.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Work with our external tax professionals to assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Stay informed about changes in tax laws that may impact the company.
- Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and information. Collaborate with auditors to address any inquiries and ensure a smooth audit.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement. Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.
- Create efficiency, workflows, approval matrix, and guardrails for financial/accounting processes and transactions.
- Collaborate with operational teams, facilitating forecasting, KPI reviews, and seamless coordination between IMS and SalesForce for streamlined inventory processes.
- Special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting and financial tools/software such as RAMP, Cin7(IMS) and SalesForce.
- Experience in a startup environment is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Knowledge of sustainable business practices is a plus.
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
