Costco Wholesale Corporation is seeking a Data Engineer for its Issaquah, Washington office.
Job Duties: Develop and operationalize data pipelines to create enterprise certified data sets that are made available for consumption (BI, Advanced analytics, APIs/Services). Design data pipelines and recommend ongoing optimization of data storage, data ingestion, data quality, and orchestration. Design, develop, and implement ETL/ELT processes using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS). Use Azure services such as Azure SQL DW (Synapse), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, Cosmos, Databricks, Delta-Lake to improve and speed up delivery of data products and services. Implement big data and NoSQL solutions by developing scalable data processing platforms to drive high-value insights to the organization. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements; automates manual processes and optimizes data delivery. Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality of data management. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Plus one year of experience in each of the following: Working with operational data staging environments, data modeling principles, and data warehousing concepts; Designed and developed mapping, session, and workflows based on requirements and business rules to load data from files and relational databases using Informatica PowerCenter; Designing and implementing data warehousing and business intelligence solutions using ETL tools, including Informatica PowerCenter, and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services; Troubleshooting and performance tuning of sources, transformations, targets, mappings, workflows, and sessions using partition concepts at workflow and database levels; Utilizing the following technologies: SQL, Oracle, Dataset, flat files, XML, JSON, UNIX, and UC4; and Automating with complex mapping to handle the production monitoring for daily runs by accessing repository.
In lieu of a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus one year of experience as described above, the employer will accept three years of experience in each of the following: Working with operational data staging environments, data modeling principles, and data warehousing concepts; Designed and developed mapping, session, and workflows based on requirements and business rules to load data from files and relational databases using Informatica PowerCenter; Designing and implementing data warehousing and business intelligence solutions using ETL tools, including Informatica PowerCenter, and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services; Troubleshooting and performance tuning of sources, transformations, targets, mappings, workflows, and sessions using partition concepts at workflow and database levels; Utilizing the following technologies: SQL, Oracle, Dataset, flat files, XML, JSON, UNIX, and UC4; and Automating with complex mapping to handle the production monitoring for daily runs by accessing repository.
