The Women’s Buyer will be responsible for planning and selecting a range of women’s products to sell throughout our stores, and monitoring stores inventory and staying current with the latest women’s fashion trends. The Women’s Buyer will source new merchandise in line with our brand standards and positioning, and review existing items to ensure products remain competitive. S/he will also be in charge of analyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends, reviewing sales performances per store, managing plans for stock levels, reacting to changes in demand and logistics, meeting with vendors and negotiating terms of contracts, maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new vendors for future products, attending fashion shows, and liaising with Stores Managers to ensure supplies meet demand. The Buyer must have excellent negotiation skills, a refined and visionary sense of fashion and an innate ability to select trendy and exclusive products for our high-end clientele to ensure our boutiques’ continued success and development. We desire a team player with excellent business, analytical, communication, presentation and fashion-sense skills.
Required Skills, Education & Experience:
• Advanced/Master’s Degree in Business with a concentration/specialization in Luxury Brands and/or Buying Management and/or Fashion.
• Must have 3 years of professional experience in the high-end fashion industry at both ends of the buying/purchasing process for strong understanding of fashion and luxury business activities.
• Experience with fashion retail and wholesale, including with fashion chains preferred.
• Must have proven abilities to select and purchase merchandise assortments, analyze sales performances per item, negotiate contracts, establish connections with luxury brands,
identify trendy and sough-after items, manage stocks, and identify inventory needs.
• Excellent organization, managerial, planning, analytical, and computer skills.
• Professional demeanor with strong cross-functional collaboration skills with all types of
team members and vendors.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Hardworking professional, exceptionally self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Multilingual preferred: English required and international experience greatly favored.
