APM Architect - Datadog

Exp : 12+ years

Responsibilities: Design, implement, and configuration of DataDog / other APM (Preferably APPD / DT / new Relic) for the Client. Present and demonstrate Datadog / Other APM capabilities to the prospective clients Analyse application performance metrics, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve system performance and reliability Adopt best practices and development standards, and deployment of the same Develops Business Journeys and customizes dashboards and Builds advanced visualizations Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring and alerting requirements based on application performance goals. Performs assessment of Monitoring estate and derive at recommendations with quantified business benefits Strong Mentorship by enabling knowledge sharing sessions on utilizing Datadog / Other APM tools effectively for performance monitoring and troubleshooting

Key skills: Solution / Design & Manage Datadog monitoring platform / Other APMs to monitor application and infrastructure performance. Configure and customize Datadog APM (Application Performance Monitoring) / Other APM solutions to meet the specific needs of our applications. Proven experience as an APM Consultant / Architect role, with hands-on experience managing and optimizing Datadog and similar APM tools. Strong understanding of application performance monitoring concepts, methodologies, and best practices. In-depth knowledge of Datadog's APM and observability features, including distributed tracing, profiling, and log management. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience monitoring applications deployed in cloud environments. Familiarity with cloud-native services, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong understanding of CloudWatch metrics and its integration with Datadog for monitoring AWS services and resources. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex performance issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Hands-on experience with advanced features of Datadog, such as anomaly detection, event correlation, Dashboards & alerting

Good to have : Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (Python, Shell/ Ansible/Puppet,.) Understanding of Call flow between IT & Business Applications Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating Datadog into the development workflow Certifications in Datadog or relevant APM technologies Certifications in AWS, Azure, or other relevant cloud technologies Knowledge / Experience with other APM / Log Analytics tools such as New Relic /AppDynamics /Dynatrace / Splunk / ELK
