Job Description

APM Lead - - AppD + Dynatrace (DT) (10+ years)

responsibilities:

Design, implement, and configure application performance monitoring (APM) solutions for clients. Assess clients' APM needs and provide recommendations for optimizing application performance. Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and translate them into APM requirements. Install and configure APM tools, including agent deployment, instrumentation, and integration with various application stacks. Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of applications to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Develop custom dashboards, reports, and alerts to monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide guidance and support to clients on leveraging APM data to drive proactive performance management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and business stakeholders, to drive APM best practices and continuous improvement. Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in APM tools, technologies, and methodologies. Act as a subject matter expert and provide training and mentoring to junior team members.

Key Skills:

Good understanding and experience on: Strong experience in implementing and managing APM solutions, such as Datadog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or New Relic. Proficiency in configuring and customizing APM tools to monitor various application stacks, including web, mobile, and cloud-based applications. Solid understanding of application performance metrics, tracing, and profiling techniques. Expertise in troubleshooting performance issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing performance optimization strategies. Proficient in working with monitoring agents, setting up instrumentation, and integrating APM tools with application frameworks and platforms. Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience in analysing APM data, identifying performance patterns, and making data-driven recommendations. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose complex performance issues and recommend effective solutions. Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage client relationships effectively.

Good to have:

Certifications in APPD / DT / other APM tools Understanding of cloud-native architectures and the ability to monitor applications in cloud environments. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Familiarity with log management and analysis tools, such as ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell for automation and extending APM tool functionality.
