Our esteemed client, a prominent player in the air freight sector since 1986, is on the lookout for a proficient A&P Mechanic. This long-term, full-time role comes with an attractive salary bracket of $25 - $29/hr, and a comprehensive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life coverage, STD/LTD, Vacation/Sick/Holiday Pay, and a 401(k).


Duties & Responsibilities:

Acting under general supervision, the A&P Mechanic will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring maintenance, modifications, and servicing of aircraft and their components, adhering to manufacturers specifications and FARS.
  • Handling routine scheduled maintenance and carrying out aircraft inspections.
  • Comprehending and applying aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications.
  • Modifying aircraft systems in alignment with diagrams, engineering orders, and technical publications.
  • Assembling and fitting components using both manual and power tools.
  • Being prepared for emergency repairs and displaying willingness to travel.
  • Reviewing logs to schedule maintenance examinations and overhauls.
  • Completing necessary paperwork for finished tasks.
  • Observing strict adherence to clean-up, housekeeping, quality, safety, and sanitation rules.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • One to two years of technical college/training (preferred)

Experience:

  • Three to five years or more (minimum)
  • Six years or more (preferred)

Certifications:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics of aircraft parts/components.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in hand and power tools operation
  • Good judgment for aircraft maintenance, safety, and team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to withstand exposure to weather and work outdoors
  • Able to climb ladders, sit-stand, crouch bend for extended periods
  • Good vision for focusing on objects
  • Able to professionally represent the company and effectively communicate with team members and external customers
