Primary responsibility is to manage and optimize the performance, reliability, and security of databases running on Amazon Aurora.

Proficient in Database Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure Aurora database instances, ensuring optimal performance and availability. This involves defining the appropriate database parameters, storage, and networking settings.

Proficient in Database Design and Schema Management: Collaborate with application developers and architects to design efficient database schemas, ensuring data integrity and scalability. Participate in database schema changes, migrations, and version upgrades while minimizing disruption to services.

Should have experience in Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the database's performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and database schemas for improved efficiency. Implement best practices for database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Proficient in Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime. Regularly perform database backups, test restoration procedures, and ensure data replication and failover mechanisms are in place for high availability.

Perform Security and Access Control: Implement and manage database security measures, including access controls, authentication, and encryption. Monitor and respond to security threats, perform regular security audits, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and AWS security standards.

Should perform Capacity Planning and Scalability: Monitor database resource utilization, predict growth patterns, and plan for capacity scaling to accommodate increasing workloads. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to optimize database infrastructure and storage provisioning.

Proficient in Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Respond to database-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Troubleshoot performance issues, connectivity problems, and database errors promptly to minimize downtime and impact on applications.

Knowledge in Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and implement tools to streamline database management tasks, deployments, and monitoring. Leverage AWS services and features like AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, and AWS CloudWatch for automation and orchestration.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
