AWS Platform engineer

- Operating Systems: 2+ years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration.
- Automation/Configuration Management: 2+ years of experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, Terraform and Jenkins.
- Containers: Working expertise on Containers, especially Docker containers, and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
- AWS: 3+ years' experience using a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g. EC2,ECS, EKS, ELB, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, ECR, Lambda,APIGW) to develop and maintain an Amazon AWS based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.Experience with AWS metrics evaluation and threshold configurations.
- Log Analysis: Knowledge on log management and analysis using Splunk, ELK etc.
- Scripting: Good with linux shell scripting/Python scripting.
- Testing tools: web services/API testing tools and their command line integration with CI/CD pipeline.
- Version Control: Experience administrating version control systems such as SVN and git (link removed)>
- Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services with know-how on trouble shooting. (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP,netstat, openssl).
- Other: Knowledge on C/C++ compiling using make, build tools like maven, gradle etc.
- Interpersonal skills to include effective verbal and written communication with staff, key leaders and other departments
| - AWS certification AWS certified solution architect associate.
- Good experience in AWS Infra as a code using terraform.
- Good with Linux system commands/processes.
- Containers and their management experience.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and scripted pipelines.
- Ansible based configuration management.
| - Two associate level certs or AWS SysOps certification.
- Databases and Caches in AWS.
- Estimation skills.
- Knowledge on Kafka ecosystem
- Kubernetes knowledge.
- Redhat Openshift experience.
- Serverless model in AWS
| - Understand and estimate the AWS infrastructure based on project requirements.
- Designing, Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing AWS cloud based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems.
- Build, release and configuration management of production systems.
- System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains.
- Security patching and remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Monitor/review the server logs and work on fixing the issues pro-actively.
- Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.
- Must be able to work unsupervised if needed.
- Interpersonal skills to include effective verbal and written communication with staff, key leaders and other departments.
