Pediatric experience is required!Candidate will be FedEx'ed Fingerprint cards and consent for background check upon selection. Clearance must be received prior to start!PLEASE notify candidate that our facility DOES NOT PAY HOURLY RATE TO HOLD THE BEEPER while on call!!! Will rotate between Same Day Ambulatory Surgery and PACU 10 hr. day shifts x 4 with REQUIRED after hrs & weekend call.1. TDAP (can't be over 10 years),2. MMR X2 (unless they have a copy of their titers), 3. INFLUENZA (CURRENT SEASON), 4. PPD (have to have last 2 years, if they have a positive reading must have a CXR with results within past 4 years then they need to fill out a TB questionnaire). If they do not have 2 years worth then they need to have a 2-step at least started prior to arrival. 5.Mask-fitting of N95 6.If they will have direct patient care then they need to have VARICELLA (OR TITERS), 7.HEPATITIS B X3 or titers., clean background check, negative 10 panel drug screen all complete before arrival! Active RN license ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Will rotate shifts between Same Day Surgery to prep pt for ambulatory surgery & also recover in phase 2, as well as in Recovery Room phase 1 for surgical patients from an O.R. suite of 4 operating rooms. Cases include: endoscopy, general surgery, ENT, ortho, opthalmic, dental, and OB/GYN. No vascular or cardiac cases. Also rotate between same day surgery in preparing the patient for surgery and recovering patients, and educating for same day discharge. This position REQUIRES after hours on call and weekend call! Per contract, NO EXTRA RATE PAID for holding the beeper, only actual hours worked! NO MINIMUM call back, no extra holiday rate paid! Overtime rate paid ONLY after 80 hours/pay period!Candidate will:1)Observe and assess surgery patients health status by physical assessment and examination interviewing patient and family members and reviewing patients health history. 2)Initiates treatments medications emergency and resuscitative measures bases on appropriate utilization of physicians pre and post op orders standing orders and post anesthesia protocol. 3)Monitors patients having surgical procedure under local anesthesia by assessing cardiopulmonary status respiratory status and hemodynamic status and pain levels. 4)Develops individualized patient care plans or participates in patient care planning which involves the assessment and evaluation of patient needs a determination of the nursing procedures and practices to be included and periodic evaluation of plans to insure that intended results are being achieved. 5)Carries out treatments and emergency or other procedures required administers medications observes and documents patients conditions, changes and reactions to medications and medical treatment. 6)Maintains health records by documenting observations, nursing interventions and therapeutic measures administered. 7)Provides specialized knowledge and skills to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients undergoing elective surgery as well as critically ill patients undergoing emergency surgical procedures. 8)Provides counseling and teaching to patients and families or surrogates on preventive, curative and rehabilitative measures involved in health care. 9)Initiates patient referrals when necessary to maintain continuity of patient care. 10)Maintains professional knowledge and proficiency in nursing through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops and serving on nursing committes. 11)Knowledge of pharmaceuticals in order to recognize there desired effects, side effects and complications of their use. 12)Collaborates with members of the surgical and multidisciplinary teams in assessing, planning and implementing surgical intervention in management of patient?s health care, per operatively. 13)Skill in operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as resuscitators, positive pressure machines, and monitoring devices. 14)Utilizes the ASPAN standards of Care to develop, implement, evaluate and revise an appropriate problem oriented nursing plan of care for the peri-operative patient.License Info: Tuba City Regional Healthcare is does not require your RN to have an AZ state license.
