Summary / Role Purpose
The Academic Account Manager will increase new and existing business by adapting ANSYS engineering simulation products and solutions into customers research and teaching environments, ultimately helping educators, researchers and students add simulation software into their curricula and projects. The Academic Account Manager is responsible
for the promotion of the use of ANSYS simulation tools in universities for research and teaching activitieswithintheir assigned geographical territory, and for maximizing adoption and revenue growth, and account penetration. The roleestablishes and maintains regular contact with key university advocates, IT groups and Professors to ensure the sale and adoption of ANSYS tools throughout universities.A successful Academic
Account Manager also creates a plan to develop the territory andworks closely with Ansys channel partners to reach both revenue goals and adoption of Ansys in research and teaching institutions to execute said plan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a resource to Ansyschannel partners within a designated territory by assistingwith the academic sales activities related to new and existing accounts, up to and includingopportunityclose. Identifyopportunities to deploy the full portfolio of Ansys tools in key research groups. Maintainkey relationships with priority research groups. Defineand maintain a list of priority universities for the adoption of of Ansys in curriculum. Manage(and directly performs when needed) a constant number of presentations showcasing the ANSYS Academic Program to faculty and students (demand generation events). Manageand ensurethat Ansys is included in curriculum on a regular basis. Joinand participatein activities of influential groups (e.g ASME, IEE). Managestudent teams activities:ensure that key students teams have access to Ansys products and training,ensure that the student teams contacts are leveraged to find new adoption opportunities. Create and maintain account plans for existing customers highlighting profile, shareand valueopportunities. Leadcoordination ofsales effort with other Ansys teams. Leverage conferences, trade shows and conventions. Scheduletraining and seminars to enhancenew business opportunitieswithin current and prospective customerbase. Remain knowledgeable and keep abreast of the company's new and existingproducts/services to facilitate salesefforts. Alertclient to new or improvedproducts/servicesandrelays client feedback to product development staff.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
Bachelor's degree Minimum of 3 years of sales experience Basic knowledge of company's products/services and pricing practices Excellent selling skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Professional appearance and presentation required At least 50% travel to universities required
OTHER INFORMATION
Engineering degree or equivalent training in engineering strongly preferred Proven/documented sales ability Heavy phone usageFluency in English is required, other language skills are a plus. Duties may be modified by the company as appropriate
