Do you have a passion for helping high school students reach their academic goals? Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking an Academic Summer Support Specialist to join our team at Life Academy High School! As a Support Specialist, you will provide academic support to high school students and work closely with the Life Academy team in delivering an enriching summer learning experience. BACR has been serving the Bay Area community for over 40 years and is dedicated to promoting the healthy development of individuals, families, and communities. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for empowering and supporting underserved communities.
Benefits
- Pay rate: $45 an hour (based on experience and location)
- Hours: 30 hours a week, for 3 weeks.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, afternoons until 6 p.m.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and school staff.
- Creative and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Passion for working with underserved communities.
- Availability to work Monday-Friday during the summer months.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic support to a diverse group of high school students in various subject areas.
- Collaborate with Life Academy team to develop creative and engaging lesson plans that align with school curriculum.
- Support students with organization, study skills, and test-taking strategies.
- Monitor student progress and tailor support as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff to keep them informed of student progress.
- Encourage positive student behavior and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
