The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for the overall management and strategy of billing, invoicing, collection, and cash application activities, as well as the timely management of all AR aging components and partnering across the organization to drive collections. The Accounts Receivable Manager will also maintain and improve sustained cash flow and a strong DSO through diligent and aggressive monitoring of our customer accounts. The ideal candidate creates a positive experience for our customers and team members, implements best practices, and develops the capabilities of the team.


What you'll be doing:

  • Set objectives for the accounts receivable team that align with the accounting departments goals.
  • Swiftly and effectively resolve billing, payment, and other issues.
  • Monitor processing of invoices to ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures that comply with applicable laws.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments, including negotiating with customers in non-payment cases.
  • Proactively forge strong working relationships with internal partners to drive accountability for reducing overall AR risk exposure. Provide timely and candid communication on statuses, problems, and timelines.
  • Partner with tax department to ensure sales tax compliance.
  • Proactively recommend and implement process changes.
  • Drive efficient month-end close activities across the team in partnership with the Finance department.
  • Coach, motivate and challenge members of the Billing and Collections team.

We're looking for:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, quality of results, and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, collaborate across functions, communicate effectively, and influence others.
  • Ability to successfully manage competing assignments across a team, meet deadlines, organize complex processes, and deliver consistent quality and results.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as how AR accounting data flows through ERP systems.
  • Eager problem solver that focuses on process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in billing and/or collections positions, including supervisory or management experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Netsuite/ERPs and Excel.
  • CPA certification is a plus
