Vista Musical Instruments is seeking a skilled and experienced Acoustic Guitar Luthier to join our team at 225 Parsons St in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As an Acoustic Guitar Luthier, you will be responsible for the design, construction, and modification of acoustic guitars. You will work closely with our team of designers and artisans to create premium-quality acoustic guitars that meet the specifications of our brands. Responsibilities

• Design and construct acoustic guitars from start to finish. Adept in skills including but not limited to tonewood selection, woodworking, parts fitting, and finishing
• Hands-on construction of acoustic instruments and management of facility, tooling, and machinery of the acoustic guitar building department
• Collaborate with product design and development team to develop new guitar designs and prototypes
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices for acoustic guitar design and construction
• Ensure that all guitars built meet the highest standards of quality, playability, and sound
• Keep organized and accurate records of all builds
• Repair and restore acoustic guitars, including vintage instruments

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of experience as an acoustic guitar luthier
• Demonstrated knowledge of guitar design, construction, and modifications
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• CAD/CAM experience is a plus
• Past experience or tutelage under a reputable brand or acoustic guitar builder is a plus
• Passion for music and musical instruments
