Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is in search of an exceptionally organized and engaging Activities Coordinator to create and oversee the activities program in several of our contracted Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Northern Nevada area. To this end, the Activities Coordinator will be expected to gauge individual interests, conceptualize appropriate activities, and ensure the availability of all necessary resources. They should also analyze uptake to ensure that the program remains stimulating.

To be successful as an Activities Coordinator, this person should devise programs that are sensitive to differences in physical and cognitive abilities.

Duties Assigned

• Collaborating with staff and clinicians to understand the ways in which activities can promote healing and belonging.
• Conducting needs assessments to ascertain physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
• Determining individual interests and expectations regarding leisure time.
• Determining and overseeing the use of available finances.
• Developing an activities program that is both sufficiently diverse and sensitive to our occupants' requirements.
• Purchasing or leasing supplies for all activities.
• Advertising events well in advance of their scheduled times.
• Supervising and participating in events alongside staff and occupants.
• Compiling periodic reports that outline successes, constraints, and the way forward.

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
• Two years of experience working as an Activities Director, Activities Coordinator, Life Enrichment Director or Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker (PSR) in Skilled Nursing/ Assisted Living environment.
• Currently certified as an Activities Professional preferred.
• Some facilities may require up to date vaccinations or appropriate exemptions.
• Travel required to several facilities in the Reno, Sparks and Carson City area.
• Moderate computer skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and other professionals.

Pay Range: $22.00- $24.00 hourly
