Our hire will perform varied secretarial and administrative functions within the Blair County Public Defender's Office. Essential duties include answering the phone; screening calls to route to proper destination; providing explanations to clients on topics such as court dates, bench warrants, accelerated rehabilitative disposition (ARD) applications; typing and filing motions, petitions, continuances, and transcripts; preparing and maintaining files after each proceeding; transcribing hearing information; preparing expungements; handling mail; and maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED; at least six months' experience in an office environment; experience working in a fast-paced office with frequent interruptions; demonstrated experience setting schedules and meeting deadlines; fluency in English; effective communications skills (both written and verbal); skills to function independently; computer proficiency. This job must be performed onsite in Hollidaysburg, PA.
