Under supervision of the Director of Admissions, this role is responsible for managing the onsite experience for campus visitors, advising prospective students on Institute admissions procedures; implementing the Institutes admissions policies and ensures that they are adhered to; evaluating the international admissions files; and providing the administrative support in processing students applications for the Admissions Office, which includes setting up computer records for all prospective students and assisting with the processing of transcripts, letters of recommendation, test scores, essays, and other documents. This is full time, 37.5 hour-per-week staff position located in Monterey, California.


Core Responsibilities

  • Manages the on-site visit experience for prospective students and visitors. This includes the recruitment and management of student front desk workers and tour guides (graduate assistants) to provide a seamless and informative visit experience for all guests.
  • Coordinates the timely processing of inquiries and applications for admission and scholarship decisions.
  • Maintains documentation of procedures and the Institutes admissions policies.
  • Advises/mentors team members as they learn the procedures for making admissions decisions.
  • Evaluates academic credentials including GPA conversions, international school verifications and foreign credentials.
  • Assures accurate data and record keeping on all prospective students and reports data at regular intervals and when requested.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including working with an international clientele.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and interpret complex policies and procedures and create processes to ensure implementation.
  • Excellent computer skills, to include word processing, database management, and spreadsheet analysis.
  • A combination of education and experience, which would demonstrate possession of skills required for the position: A typical way to satisfy this requirement would be two years college-level coursework and two years office experience, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database management.

This is a benefits-eligible, non-exempt (hourly) position with a hiring range of $26.33 - $32.90 per hour.
