Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking an Afterschool Program Instructor to join our team. This is a seasonal position that offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our youth at Fred T. Korematsu Middle School. Working with a team of dedicated professionals, you will have the chance to help shape the development of young students in the Bay Area.

This position may be a great fit for those who have babysitting or nanny experience, have aspirations to get into the field of education, childhood development, pediatrics, or are interested in running their own after school program.


Benefits

  • Compensation of $20 an hours
  • 22 hours a week" M/Tu/Thur/Fri 2pm-6pm & Wednesday 1pm-6pm

Minimum Requirements

  • No experience required
  • Must have 48 college credits completed or pass the IA Exam (proctored by BACR)
  • Ability to reliably commute to the school site in El Cerrito, CA
  • Commitment to education equity, leadership, and wanting to help shape young students lives
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain the emotional well-being of the students.
  • Provide a safe environment
  • Be a positive role model for struggling students
  • Have fun engaging students in lesson plans
  • Run community circles based on restorative practices
  • Ability to collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum)
  • Ability to model BACR Best Practices as shown on our website

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
