Looking for a caring person as an aide to an adult male with global and intellectual disability.

Paid through Medicaid $13.34 /h. Full time plus, some nights.

Aide has to know basic ASL as the individual communicates through signing.

Aide will need to take 3 or 4 at least 15 minute breaks when the individual is being fed through G-tube (Medicaid does not allow aides to be reimbursed for that time). Duties include food prep and clean up, walking, personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, going to doctor appointments, activities in community etc.

The individual is at risk for falling and needs support while walking, going up and down stairs, on any uneven surface, in any place involving closed doors (like bathrooms). The individual has low muscle tone and tires very easily, Aide will need to ensure that he has multiple breaks and is able to rest.

The individual needs support with: going to the bathroom, wiping, washing hands, fixing clothes etc. He also requires help with dressing and putting on foot orthotics. On occasion bathing will be required. The individual needs 100% assistance with bathing.

The individual does not understand danger and is not paying attention to harmful things. Aide will need to be aware of possible dangers in each environment the individual finds himself to be.

The individual has trouble swallowing and is a risk for choking, throwing up and aspiration. The Aide needs to be ready at any moment to help with preventing that from happening. If the individual does throw up the aide will need to clean all items. The individual wakes up multiple times at night and needs changing or being taken care of in the bathroom. The aide will need to change and wash the bedding and any other thing that needs cleaning.

The aide will also need to clean the individual's space, toys, bed, his room, wash his clothes etc.

Clear background checks required. Aide will need to have a car and transport the individual as needed. Mileage reimbursement available through Medicaid.
