Job Responsibilities




  • Function autonomously to conduct patient histories and physicals for complex critical, chronically ill, and acute patients.

  • Order, perform, and analyze diagnostic and therapeutic tests concerning the needs of the patient, and follow up on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being adequately met.

  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to ensure the health and comfort of all patients.

  • Implement measures to assist patients in regaining and sustaining physiologic endurance to include serving in the first assisting role.

  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals and monitoring the effectiveness of all interventions.

  • Facilitate the staff and the patient as well as the family decision-making process by providing educational tools for self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.

Required



 



Requirements:




  • Active and unrestricted state or Federal license

  • Board Certified by American Board of Radiology or on Board Pathway

  • Must have 48 or more months of Radiology Residency Training

  • Minimum of 6 months in Radiology specialty

  • Active and unrestricted DEA

  • Active BLS, ACLS, & EHR certifications mandatory

  • Full vaccinations and immunizations

  • Fitness for Duty letter

  • Evidence of current CME

Summary



     The Memphis VA Medical Center is seeking an Angio-Interventionist Radiologist.  The successful candidate will be able to provide coverage within a short notification period and be able to travel to the site.  The VA is seeking a full-time candidate as well as one who can provide Coverage for absences. The ideal candidate brings enthusiasm and drive to provide our Veterans the best services possible.  It’s all about the Vets!  



 



About the Opportunity:



- Period of Performance is approx. 8/1/20 to 7/31/21 w/ four option years



- 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.  Paid weeknight, weekend, and holiday On-call hours



- Travel, Lodging, and Per Diem provided



- Malpractice Insurance provided



- Position provides Angio-Interventional Radiology services to VA patients according to the American College of Radiology Guidelines for Angio-Interventional Radiology.  Duties include but are not limited to:



- Angiography, Cryoablation, Balloon angioplasty/stent placement, Line insertion, Chemoembolization, IVC filters, Cholecystostomy, Vertebroplasty, Drain insertions, Nephrostomy placement, Embolization, Radiologically inserted gastrostomy, Thrombolysis, Dialysis access & related interventions, Biopsy, TIPS Placement, Radiofrequency ablation, Biliary intervention, Endovenous laser ablation of varicose veins



- Located in Memphis blocks from city center
