-Breeding Supervisor will analyze production sow flow in the all Breeding barns and rooms to determine future space allocations and recommend daily to the Farrowing Supervisor those necessary changes (movement of animals to and from the Breeding rooms and Barns) required to maximize crate and barn utilization. Farm manager will be informed of the Supervisors daily plan and activities required to maximize Breeding and Farrowing crate utilization.

-Supervise the preparation of daily Breeding animals, crates, and room production documents. When necessary, will assist in the determination of individual sow breeding cycle/periods for breeding animals as needed to ensure the best possible breeding schedule and the health of any particular sow, otherwise it is the breeding assistants daily task to make this determination. Determines sow breeding service needs for health, welfare, profit, weekly breeding rate and conception rates. Supervises the sow terminations, when necessary will personally accomplish the task of termination. Supervises and delegates medical treatment and checks the scoring of sows in breeding barns, as required. Supervises feeding schedules and the task of getting sows and bores up for the feeding periods. Supervises the washing and disinfecting of animals and rooms.

-Conducts routine tours to inspect crates, rooms, and animals in production. Ensuring protocol is followed in all cases. Conducts training as necessary to insure trainees and assistants can perform their daily task to standard. Develops individual expectations for trainees and assistants to personally develop to their maximum capacity.

-Ensures company policies, procedures, schedule, and goals are followed and completed, daily.

-Provide counseling assistance to individuals of the team that may need help, basic training, or additional training.

-Assist farm manager with orientation of new employees.

-Provides one on one counseling and personnel action with the breeding team members.

-Assist the Farm Manager with other duties in managing the farm and responds to his or her direction, as required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. A Minimum of 5 years experience of supervising multiple employees is required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to visitors and other employees of the organization, by person to person communication using the telephones or verbal communications (talking) in English of through an interpreter is important, is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs use of and adding machine/calculator is required. Must be able to read company reports and understand the impact or efficiencies of running a farm operation.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
