Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Application Support Analyst (Linux/Unix, SQL, Python)for a long-term CONTRACT/potential contract-to-hireassignment with one of our premier Banking clients in Irving, TX or Tampa, FL(link removed) Any experience supporting financial/regulatory related systems is a big plus but not required.

**This will be a hybrid position (2-3 days a week onsite vs remote) from day 1, based out of Irving, TX or Tampa, FL. We can work on a direct w2 or independent corp basis but cannot do 3rd party c2c for this client.**

Responsibilities :
This business-critical requisition required to support daily production batches. This requires research and identification from failed batches to resolutions at the quickest time. This is a business sensitive position that requires attention to detail and quick turnaround. Liaise between various support team across multiple vendors to provide seamless customer experience.

• Perform analysis of existing application protocols and software tools and actively engage with the various support teams for the smooth functioning of Firm's business.
• Provide application support oversight in resolving and troubleshooting problems.
• Provide and support recommendations for improved procedures and policies.
• Work with various vendors and ensure that issue resolution is as per Firm's standards and there is timely notification to the customers for the ongoing production issues.
• Ensure that there is a seamless communication channel between the support and the development team for ensuring the production issues are fixed in timely manner.
• Assist and support in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
• Provide advanced application support to effectively utilize the system infrastructure and resources.
• Provide direct assistance to users in using and interpreting software tools and products
• Interact with software vendors to provide best solutions to business problems.
• Ensure compliance of all security measures in application development processes.

• First class degree with excellent academic qualifications. B.E/ B.Tech. in Comp science, IT, or other engineering disciplines from a reputed institute with relevant work experience.
• 3-4 years' experience in handling production support activities, identifying and resolving technical issues.
• Should have good expertise in database level analysis to trace issues to closure. Also, should have extensive experience in writing complex and efficient SQL DML statements.
• Should be aware of various scheduling tool.
• Managing ticketed query system and ensuring comprehensive database of queries and resolutions is kept up to date.
• Delivering regular and customized training to teams within the business
• Strong design & execution bend of mind to help resolve complex technical issues.
• Oversees process for technical issue escalation; prioritizes technical issue resolution.
• Oversees resolution of major system outages ensuring communication to interested parties.
• Start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.
• Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.
• Provides technical oversight across systems and applications; leverages skills across apps support area.
• Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
• Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
• Ticketing tools like ServiceNow
• Scheduling tools like AutoSys.
• Thorough understanding of ETL and relational database methodologies.
• Software engineering best practices
• Passion for technology and self- starter
• Strong writing, communication, time-management, decision-making, and basic task organization skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage schedules under tight, SLA's.

• Experience on shell scripting would be added advantage
• It is desired but not mandatory to have experience with ETL/Database Development tools.
• Experience with handling ETL jobs (Ab-Initio) with sound expertise in UNIX to identify issues at data level and trace file transfers from one system to another.
