Position: Application developer lead

Location: Seattle, WA / remote for now but local candidates ONLY

Duration: 6 months contract to hire

JD:

Come join our Starbucks API and Platform team. We are looking for a strong SDE to join our Web API team. This team is responsible for supporting Web APIs for the mobile and web application teams. We do all the middle tier development for applications used/created by the whole company. As we are consumer facing and very highly trafficked you need to have a background working on consumer facing, high throughput web applications.

Daily schedule:

• Collaborates with development and project teams to provide observability.
• Collaborates with business partners to provide recommendations for technology decisions, including package selection and systems design and modification.
• Consults with development and project teams to provide technical solutions for complex issues.
• Establishes, maintains and ensures compliance with standards and procedures for design, development, testing, and documentation, contributing to high quality, reliable systems that meet or exceed business needs.
• Formulates and defines scope, objectives and technical direction for new or modified web applications and leads systems analysis, design, development and implementation efforts.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to technical staff.
• Ensures application design fits within holistic vision and future state of existing systems.
• Your primary responsibility would be to build cloud native applications that replace existing on-prem functionality.
• You would be enhancing mission critical web APIs that are used by millions of daily customers, triaging and solving complex problems that span multiple organizations, all the while improving and adding new integrations, stability, observability and scaling abilities.

Interaction level with team:

This CW will need to be able to work independently while also collaborating with team and others.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of experience working as an SDE at an Enterprise Level (consumer facing). Or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience
• 9+ years of experience building web APIs in C# and .net
• Hands on experience in developing and shipping high throughput REST APIs
• Ability to read/write SQL queries
• Experience with API testing, performance testing and performance debugging tools
