Columbia-Greene Addiction Coalition Inc. is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Director to join our team. As an Assistant Director, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations and growth of the organization. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to make a significant impact addressing the opioid epidemic and substance use disorder in Columbia and Greene counties.
Responsibilities - Assists the Director in planning, developing, and implementing evidence based programs and initiatives that expand prevention practices and harm reduction activities in high risk or underserved areas.
- Resides in Columbia or Greene or has strong connections to the identified community.
- Recruitment of community members representing diverse sectors or are representative of the identified health disparate community.
- Works closely with the Director to guide coalition members through SAMHSA's Strategic Prevention Framework model, which includes assessment, capacity building, planning, implementing, and evaluating activities.
- Works with the Director and the coalition at large to develop and implement evidence-based culturally responsive prevention strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations, and individuals in substance use prevention.
- Conducts trainings, workshops or presentations as needed, and helps to organize community events to raise awareness, educate the community to adopt harm reduction practices.
- Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities.
- Develops print and media campaigns to increase awareness of current trends.
Requirements - Bachelor's Degree, Associates degree or related work experience in social work, public health, psychology, community organizations or nonprofits.
- Experience in the field of substance use prevention, treatment, harm reduction, recovery, or community mobilization a plus.
- Knowledge of local and state resources for substance use disorder
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication, interpersonal and professional skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software applications
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the Columbia-Greene Addiction Coalition Inc.
