The Assistant Editor role is part-time/freelance and will work at the crossroads where creative meets post-production operations.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all editors projects are operating in an organized fashion.
  • Ingest and track media for the creative team, editors, and production team.
  • Transcribing footage when necessary.
  • Syncing footage when necessary.
  • Organizing footage selects.
  • Overcutting updated footage takes.
  • Conforming and prepping locked sequences for color, finishing, and audio mix.
  • Depending on the project, the Assistant Editor may handle final finishing and delivery of assets.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years as an Assistant Editor. Experience in high-volume trailer houses is a plus.
  • Superb organizational skills and the ability to recall where media lives on-the-fly are a must.
  • Good understanding of file-based HD workflows between Adobe Premiere and Resolve, AfterEffects, and ProTools. Experience with XML project transfers between editing & design environments is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of finishing workflows and how to neatly prep conformed edits for a Finishing Editor.
  • Understanding of quality control protocols and workflows.
  • Technical know-how and problem-solving skills for on-the-fly equipment/software fixes.
  • Ability to convert media to editable formats and correct frame rates.
  • Familiarity with Mac OS, Windows 10, FTP clients, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Very good organizational and project management skills are required.
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to flag issues/changes to the relevant team members.
  • Ability to think independently and suggest/create workflows & systems to coordinators and editors.
  • A general interest in gaming and pop culture.
  • Must work in Pacific Standard Timezone.
