Assistant Manager - Web/Social Media Department
Academic Marketing Salary
$51,415 - $64,011; commensurate with experience Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant Manager - Web/Social Media is a key member of the University Marketing team of Middle Tennessee State University and is responsible for feeding and maintaining the two primary branding and messaging efforts at the front door of MTSUs recruitment and engagement efforts. Reporting to the of Manager-Strategic Communications, this person will play an essential role in website content updates, SEO, organic social media posts, and coordination at the top levels of the Universitys digital strategy. Working with a high degree of autonomy, this position owns the content-update calendar for the websites home and majors/concentration pages; and shares responsibility for the social post calendar. This person collaborates with information technology and with the creative teams to produce necessary assets and architecture. This role will provide exceptional customer service while working intensively, positively, and in close partnership with the paid digital marketing director, the information technology team, third-party vendors, campus strategic marketers, and our content and creative professionals to develop or amplify creative, compelling, and integrated marketing messages and social posts that drive engagement in our social channels as well as conversions and applications for enrollment through our website. Developing and implementing effective SEO strategies to improve website rankings in search engines will be a significant aspect of the work. This position will help train other University strategic communicators in SEO best practices so that they may also achieve results for the pages and social channels under their control. In addition, this role will serve as a point of contact for top-level web page reporting, including monitoring and analyzing website traffic and bounce rates, visitor paths, and conversion rates, observing user behavior, analyzing digital metrics, and proposing and executing new data-based improvements. Required Education
Bachelor's degree Required Related Experience
- Three years applicable full-time or equivalent work experience required
- This role requires a project management mindset and previous website content experience.
- Relevant experience with SEO and SEM data analytics and tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Hootsuite, Word Press, Yoast, Social News Desk, Moz, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, or similar
- Demonstrated familiarity and proficiency with major social media channels and tools such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Linked In.
- Must possess an understanding of website management and content management systems such as Word Press
Desirable Related Experience
- Experience in training is a plus.
- Master's degree a plus.
