Job Title: Associate Consultant, Mechanical Engineer

Location: 1 Penn Plaza, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10119

Salary: $90,459.20 with Standard Benefits.

Duties: Perform professional mechanical engineering work relating to conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, building, infrastructure, usage, and mechanical systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits. With minimal supervision, assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, computer-generated reports, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction. Verify the characteristics of a site and provide technical assistance on mechanical system design, engineering, and construction issues related to automatic temperature control systems and specifications, air distribution (supply, return, exhaust), and hydronic systems (chilled water, heating water, etc.). Prepare mechanical system designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings. Coordinate between different engineering disciplines to ensure the effective implementation of the system design. Assist technical staff and project managers with risk identification and assessment, offering input and analysis with design concepts, construction, mitigation and improvement activities, and remediation projects. Assist in field project coordination, engineering services, and troubleshooting with direct client interface under the supervision of a senior engineer. Write and/or review technical reports and specifications. Prepare proposals in response to the client's request for a proposal. Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related; 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Technical Engineer, or a related position, which must include experience the following: Mechanical system design experience in diverse building types after being exposed to over 40 commercial and residential building projects including high-rise hotels, multi-family apartments, educational facilities, restaurants, and various retail fit-outs. Experience working on every phase of project execution through engaging in over 7 full-process projects from pre-design to closeout. Hands-on project experience in LL97 and Con Edison's energy rebate programs. Experience in other building engineering trades through Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, and Fire Protection drawing preparations for over 15 projects and coordinating inter-disciplinary design efforts. Must possess LEED AP BD+C certification.
