Associate Knowledge System Specialist & Site Lead



This requirement is in anticipation of an award for conducting EKM support for USSOCOM and subordinate organizations.  Anticipated award date is January 2021 with need for immediate presence to support transition activities. Support will be for Headquarters USSOCOM, Service Components, and Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), forming the Special Operations Force (SOF) Enterprise Knowledge Management (EKM) program. The SOF EKM operations are the integration of people, processes, and technology, to facilitate the exchange of operationally relevant information and expertise to increase organizational performance. This involves creating, organizing, applying, and transferring knowledge to facilitate situational understanding and decision-making, which enables decision superiority.




  • SOF knowledge management operations are supported by collaborative applications that currently include: Microsoft (MS) SharePoint, MS SQL Server; MS Business Intelligence Stack; MS CRM; DefenseReady, SOCTube, Accenture Task Management Tool; Skype, Jabber, Defense Communications Services, Microsoft Office; and Records Management Software etc. Supported applications will change with available technology.

  • These technologies reside on various DoD networks that currently include: Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System (BICES) networks, etc... These technologies and systems may change as mission dictates and are collectively referred to in this document as SOF KM systems.

  • Standards and Practices. Ensure data standards are validated against Department of Defense Directive 8320.02. Provide documentation to support the DoD and USSOCOM required system registration, certification, and accreditation. Duplication of Technologies will strictly conform with and be documented per current Federal (Clinger Cohen Act) and DOD and USSOCOM law/instruction/directives/memorandums/ Commander’s Guidance.



Specific tasks include:




  • Provide solutions by analyzing business needs and processes

  • Recommending the best methodologies and tools from approved platforms, to include MS SharePoint;

  • Developing and designing out of the box solutions;

  • Coordinating across the organization to ensure enterprise solutions are utilized

  • Providing training for users.



Additional duties as Site Lead include:




  • Serve as the focal point to work with the assigned ACOR.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of daily activities associated with the SOW and TO applicable to the site

  • Responsible for day-to-day communication with the ACOR designated for the site 



Required: BA/BS Degree and/or <5 years of relevant experience. If degreed, prefer Computer Science related field. Must also have an IAT Level 1 certification, such as: A+ CE; CCNA-Security; CND; Network+ CE; SSCP



Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required. This is a full-time position located at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.
