Role Summary:
We are looking for a professional corporate attorney with a strong work ethic and collaborative spirit to become a part of our legal team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in drafting, revising, and negotiating various contracts. This role offers considerable responsibility and independence. Key Duties & Accountabilities (% time spent):
1. Attend to general corporate legal matters
2. Draft, review, and negotiate business/commercial contracts.
3. Attend to corporate governance matters, including preparation of documentation for board meetings
4. Provide advice and services regarding privacy and security of data (including PHI and PI)
5. Provide legal research and analysis
6. Revise insurance policies and draft insurance coverage opinions
7. Provide legal advice to the companys Candello department and Patient Safety department (and component Patient Safety Organization)
8. Assist with compliance matters, including research, policy development, and responding to audits/investigations
9. Draft general corporate policies for the company
10. Provide responsible, ethical, and valued counsel to internal clients
11. Assist with litigation-related matters directly involving the company or its employees/agents
12. Triage, prioritize, and manage multiple competing projects and client demands
13. Work on special projects
14. May be called upon to cover attendance at board/committee meetings, or other committee meetings
15. Perform other related duties as required by position

Requirements
Knowledge: Education, Experience, & Skills:
Juris Doctor Degree
1-3 years of experience as an attorney
Substantial experience drafting, revising, and negotiating contracts
Excellent writing skills
Ability to make prompt, decisive, and sound judgment calls required
Ability to collaborate and thrive in a dynamic, small-team setting
Ability to effectively collaborate across departments/teams
Acute sensitivity to conflicts of interest and ethical standards
Keen interest in continuing professional learning and sharing knowledge with others
Strong interest or experience in healthcare and/or insurance industries
Specialized Certifications:
Must be a member of the bar in good standing in any jurisdiction within the United States. Must gain bar admission to Massachusetts or Vermont bar within two examination cycles. Other bar membership in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, or Rhode Island helpful, but not required.
