A renowned CPA firm based in Melbourne, FL is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Audit Associate to join their team. As the new Audit Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the Audit team in executing audit work that complies with accounting standards. You will be responsible for ensuring that clients receive a high-quality service in all aspects of the project. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting audit projects from planning to finalization, as well as excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.


Responsibilities

  • Supporting the audit planning process by contributing knowledge of the client's business, processes, and internal control system
  • Supporting the assessment of risks and the scoping of work, and deputizing for the Auditor Manager if required
  • Actively executing audits, and ensuring that all procedures and checklists are followed accordingly
  • Identifying and understanding client needs and expectations, as well as developing relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Delivering high-quality work in accordance with audit methodologies and professional practice requirements within agreed timelines
  • Preparing reports to aid audit findings, recommending action plans and ensuring that remediation has adequately addressed audit findings
  • Monitoring and reviewing work of junior audit team members

Requirements

  • A Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of external audit experience
  • Professional qualifications (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) are a plus
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Solid knowledge of auditing techniques and principles
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to work independently when appropriate
