Technical/Functional Skills

AWS Aurora RDS: 5 years (Required)

PostgreSQL: 5 years (Required)

Terraform: 4 years (Required)

Ansible: 4 years (Required)

Experience Required

• 5+ yrs progressive experience in design, configure and support of complex RDS Databases in AWS aurora environment
• Design/code database infrastructure deployment using terraform on both private and public cloud.
• Experience in configuring and managing high availability, resiliency solutions leveraging Aurora Read replicas & Global database
• 5+ yrs Experience of AWS services specifically in the following areas RDS, S3, Athena, ECS, Lambda, AWS Organizations
• 4+ Strong PostgreSQL Server DB administration experience in production environments
• Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and security.
• Experience with Unix or Linux, and Cloud Infrastructure

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Aurora database environment in AWS RDS (Aurora)
• Design and implement redundancy and HA strategies including read replicas
• Conduct performance tuning, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tasks
• Design and implement backup/restoration strategies per data retention requirements
• Diagnose and resolve production issues
• Maintain database security and auditability
• Provide insight to team leadership regarding best practices for PostgreSQL and mentor team members

Generic Managerial Skills

Ability to perform individually or in team

ITIL Knowledge is a must
