Commercial Fire Protection is seeking an experienced Auto CAD Drafter/Fire Alarm Designer. There's never been a more exciting time to join our Irvine, CA team! We are in an accelerated growth phase in a rapidly expanding industry and looking for a highly self-motivated and energetic CAD operator. The ideal candidates have experience using the latest Auto CAD software and experience with fire alarm design. Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work on various projects at one time. Responsibilities include working closely with Sales Engineers and Project Managers to develop project drawings. Completing CAD detailssite maps, fire alarm drawings, as built plans, voltage calculations and technical details as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Extensive Auto CAD experience


• Experience with fire alarm design required


• NICET II preferred


• Knowledge of fire Alarm voltage calculations is preferred


• Knowledge of blueprints and project specifications according to codes and standards


• Prepare rack details and block diagrams using design software.


• Strong technical abilities are a must


• Maintenance of CAD file structure and archiving of hard copies


• Keep up to date of current CAD standards to maintain continuity of drawings


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Auto CAD


• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Demonstrate a high level of customer service, strong organization skills, and positive attitude


• Pass a pre-employment background check


• Perform other duties as assigned

• Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some lifting is required. Managing blue prints, and operating large format plotter would be required daily.
