Job Title - Automation Technician
Location - Buffalo Grove, IL//Complete Onsite
Job Description -

Junior Engineer (6pm 6am shift) 10 positions

General Purpose:
Supports automation engineering services activities including high speed assembly equipment
and manufacturing systems
Principle Accountabilities:
Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying
automation/robotic system components
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components
and return to serviceability
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related
components
Ensure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment are
completed on a regularly scheduled basis.
Understanding of PLCs
Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex
automated system drawings.
Analyzes engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problems.
Collaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systems.
Records procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations
for changes in product or method.
Maintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational
specifications.
Assists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all
automation solutions per specifications.
Trains other technicians and operators on products, processes and equipment.
Proper use of power tools and measuring equipment
Strong awareness of safety
SPECIALIZED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may be required for certain positions. These could
include one or more of the following duties:
Assists with customer presentations and interfaces with customers.
Assists engineers with outside third-party automation developments
Organizes documentation (specifications, schematics, and procedures).

Education / Experience Typically requires an Associates degree, military training,
equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience.
Typically requires 6-10 years of related experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Serves as an expert/consultant in technical skills with other
employees. Demonstrates knowledge of advanced
technologies as well as functional techniques and improves
processes.
Can perform complex/major adjustments to equipment with
no supervision
Applies new technologies and technological changes. Ability
to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to

questions from managers and customers.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and
draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive
variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram
form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and
operations including statistical methods. Ability to use Root
Cause Analysis to solve problems

Equipment SME
Technical support for Technicians and engineering
Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving
CQA Station Repair and PMs
Equipment/Process Improvements
Training of technicians
Participate in or lead Kaizen activities
Assist with equipment validations and testing
Reporting to engineering and management as required
Demonstrate a willingness for continuous learning
Escalate equipment and process issues engineering if unable to solve
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally
exposed to moving mechanical parts, work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic
chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

components, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The

abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
