Job Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Automation Technician! This role will be based out of our new state of the art, fully automated Injection Molding plant located in Pineville, NC. Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, Automation Technician will be responsible for supporting machinery and facility maintenance activities. These maintenance activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control to achieve plant goals.

Position Offers

  • Pay Range- $33.66-$40.49 per hour
  • The position is a Full-Time, Permanent Position with Comprehensive Benefits
  • 12 paid holidays every calendar year
  • Plant annual bonus program
  • 12-hour rotating shift; working 4 on 4 off, with bi-weekly pay

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to all departments assigned by maintenance supervision.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communications with production, quality and maintenance/engineering departments.
  • Supervises all installations of electronic devices throughout the production processes and factory, ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Ability to conceive, design, install, start-up and commission small/large scale automation/control improvement projects and support larger scale capital projects.
  • Keep the plant's automation operational.
  • Provides immediate response to equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirement:

  • An associate degree or Military equivalent schooling/training in Engineering, Electronics, or Automation. Technical or Vocational certification in Electronics, Industrial, or Automation, Robotics.
  • Requires advanced knowledge in industrial electricity, electrical controls, process instrumentation, PLC programming, robotics programming and troubleshooting.
  • Must be specialized with technical knowledge in all fields of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and theoretical mechanics, DDC control theory, applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control, Automated equipment systems and tools, ControlLogix/RS Logix, Fanuc, Siemens, OSHA and Control of Hazardous Energy procedures and regulations, Excel, Word, Robotics, CAD or Pro E.
  • Requires the ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant equipment and diagnose operational problems in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical phases without instruction and supervision.
  • Ability to read and modify mechanical blueprints, sketches, and electrical schematic diagrams as required.
  • Must know CAD/ProE and how to modify/build mechanical prints and drawings.
  • Forklift license required

Working Conditions

  • Requires a high degree of mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, and lifting to 50-75 lbs.
  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required.
  • Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat or cold, dust, noise levels and the use of forklift and sharp tools.
