Avionics Engineer Warner Robins, GA

As an Avionics Engineer with this aerospace company, your role will be to provide engineering and technical support for ongoing and future C-130 aircraft avionic systems. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Responsibilities

- Responding to 107 and 202 Assistance Requests

- Supporting Aircraft Modification efforts

- Working with other engineers and/or leading an Integrated Product Team for Aircraft Modification

- Investigating Joint Deficiency Reports

- Validating/Verifying Technical Order changes and Time Compliance Technical Orders

- Approving TO change requests

- Creating Technical Data Packages for C-130 Parts

- Identifying Critical Safety Items

- Leading Trial Kit and Prototype Installations

- Leading Test and Evaluation efforts

- Defining Requirements for C-130 Parts/Systems

- Ensuring compliance with LCSE and OSS&E AFIs supplements and related documents

- Performing Risk Assessments and Risk Mitigation as necessary

- Creating and evaluating First Article Test Plans and First Article Test results

- Developing innovative solutions to problems that arise in C-130 Avionics Systems

- Supporting Product Improvement Working Group tasks, Airworthiness Processes, Compliance, and Certifications

- Collaborating with Aerospace/Mechanical Theory, Maintenance Practices, Modification, and Operations

- Working with Engineering IT Tools and Databases/Systems

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

- U.S. Citizenship

- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (current secret clearance preferred)

- A Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering, Avionics Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics

- At least 4-9 years of directly related Electrical Engineering or Avionics Engineering experience

- Prior C-130 Experience

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include:

- Operating a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites

- Hearing and speech capabilities to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone

- Standing in work areas and walking between work areas

- Bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing or balancing, reaching, pushing, and pulling

- Lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds

- Climbing on aircraft, maintenance stands, and ladders

- Manipulating controls and entering confined areas to access components

- Occasional lifting or moving items up to 35 lbs

- Exposure to extreme noises from jets and/or helicopters, flight line noises, exhaust fumes, electrical shock hazards, and extreme weather conditions
