The Director of Clinical Integration plays a vital role within our clinical system, specifically focusing on the operations and management of the ABA clinical service line. In addition, this role is instrumental in integrating our behavioral health services with our patients healthcare providers to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality care to children with autism.

The Director of Clinical Integration in the South Bend, Indiana area will collaborate closely with clinical staff at local healthcare systems, their administrative teams, and other key stakeholders to fulfill our mission of integrated autism care.

UNIFI is starting services in the South Bend, IN area beginning November 2023!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ABA clinical service line, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize workflow, resource allocation, and patient care processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, analyze data, identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate changes to enhance service delivery.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of clinicians (BCBAs), technicians (RBTs), and support staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among staff members.
  • Collaborate with department leads and hospital administrators to integrate and coordinate services, resolve issues, and improve overall patient care.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements related to ABA clinical services, in collaboration with UNIFIs compliance department.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the quality of care, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Patient and Family Engagement:

  • Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and caregivers, addressing their concerns and needs in a compassionate and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with patient advocacy groups and community organizations to enhance the patient experience and promote autism awareness and education.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve patient and family engagement, such as educational programs, support groups, or informational resources.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Participate in the development and management of the clinical service line budget, ensuring financial sustainability and efficient resource allocation.
  • Identify resource needs, recommend equipment and technology upgrades, and coordinate procurement processes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization without compromising patient care.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, current treatment modalities, and best practices in autism care.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and experience in driving change initiatives.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to healthcare operations and autism care.
  • Proficiency in utilizing healthcare information systems and technology to enhance service delivery.

Experience and Education

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the BACB
  • Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) if working in a state with mandated licensure
  • Extensive experience in healthcare operations management, preferably within a pediatric or autism-focused setting
  • A minimum of three years experience in a similar role or at least five years in a senior BCBA position

Work Environment

The Director of Clinical Integration will be assigned to a region of UNIFI autism therapy clinics in South Bend and surrounding areas. They will work primarily remote but must be able to provide in-person support to assigned clinics as needed. Working hours are typically Monday through Friday 8a to 5p. However, later evenings and weekends may be required on occasion.

Requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and iPad. Requires the ability to talk and hear (both in-person and on the phone).

While performing the duties of the job, the Director of Clinical Integration is frequently required to stand; walk; climb stairs; use hands and fingers to feel, grab, handle, and type; and arms to reach and lift. They are occasionally required to lift and carry 50 lbs., run, stoop, sit on floor, and quickly transition from sitting to standing.

Travel

The Director of Clinical Integration will occasionally travel to assigned clinics, conferences, or training. Mileage can be expensed.
