Your Role and Responsibilities The Db2 Ecosystem team is seeking for Python developers to join our QA team in Kochi software lab. This is your opportunity to dive into the world of coding and automation. You ll be part of a team of QA working on leading edge technology that is solving some of the world s most complex problems and supporting the whole Db2 Development organization. There will be opportunities to work closely with architects and managers to diagnose and plan the delivery of new features. You ll be involved in writing and maintaining automated systems in support of key functions, such as pipelines for testing of Db2 products, and providing services to our internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will include: - Devise the test plans based on the feature/product specification
- Ensure functional, regression and performance standards are set and met for the products.
- Maintain high efficiency in test execution by focusing on automation
- Set and maintain high standards in delivery.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise - 3+ years of professional/industrial experience in software development.
- 3+ years of experience of Scripting languages Python, shell
- 3+ Experience working with CI/CD practices and toolsets e.g. Jenkins, Travis, GitHub and git
- You will work with the Product Architects, Product Managers to understand various priorities and work towards the execution.
- Participate in software design and code reviews. Reviews include other Software Engineers and are held to ensure a high level of software quality and to share knowledge with team members.
- Participate in, and adhere to, professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Source Code Management (git), and GitHub.
- Passionate and willing to learn and apply new technologies, programming and scripting languages quickly.
- Participate in the planning, creation and execution of automated test cases and load/performance testing. Create/maintain technical documentation.
- You will be providing vigilance and compliance to various software engineering, support and release processes e.g security, stack upgrades that are free of vulnerabilities etc.
- Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift Container Platform, Linux Operating Systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Experience working in a globally distributed product based engineering team
- Well versed with agile, DevOps and continuous delivery
- Strong sense of ownership of deliverables.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise - Experience in developing and deploying workloads on Cloud (AWS, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud etc.)
- Experience in C/C++/Java development.
- Experience in building Jenkins and SRE.
