We are building a community for creators with the help of creators! We are looking for an energetic, passionate, professional Events/ Banquet Chef to join the team. The Chef will work closely with the Culinary Director to properly execute our culinary vision, overseeing all aspects of the kitchen activities for the Property. The Events Chef's role is that of a seasoned and imaginative Chef to oversee the Culinary team for our Events Department and support each member by actively participating in day-to-day operations, managing guest requests, and setting everyone up for success from start to finish of the event. Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation, effective time management, and quality control are required. Fine dining and/or prior high-end events experience is preferred.

99 Scott is a mixed-use venue located at the intersection of East Williamsburg and Bushwick. Comprised of three distinct settings featuring indoor and outdoor spaces, the venue is perfectly suited for creative events, private gatherings, and photo & film shoots. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Menu development and recipe build-out
  • Executes all catering and banquet production
  • Assist in the menu creation and makes recommendations as needed
  • Supervises activities of assigned staff, communicate goals, and assign/schedule work to ensure proper coverage
  • Responsible for coordinating menus, purchasing, scheduling, food preparation, and plating for catering events
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Responsible for delivering a consistent, high-quality product for all events and functions
  • Inspect the cleanliness of the line, floor, and all Kitchen stations

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in high-volume and fine-dining restaurants.
  • Experience in multi-unit/catering and banquets preferred
  • Previous experience in Michelin-starred (1, 2, or 3) and/or NY Times (2 or more stars) is preferred.
  • An essential part of the job is being available on a flexible schedule and being willing to work outside office hours. AM/PM service and prep/production, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • There will be a variable working schedule. It will be a full-time working schedule

  • Physical requirements include: the ability to handle and carry trays, small ware, equipment, or other items up to 35lbs, and to stand, walk up and down stairs, and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods of time
