The Beach House Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and leading fun, safe, educational, and recreational trips for homeless children to the Beach House in the Marin Headlands. The Beach House Program Manager must have experience developing culturally responsive programs to expose school-age children (K-8) to new opportunities that enrich their life around nature and the surrounding environment. The ideal candidate is skilled in facilitating playful activities and is comfortable driving a van with up to seven kids in San Francisco and Marin County.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience providing direct service to youth and children
  • Experience supervising groups of youth as well as other staff and/or volunteers
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Available to work 12pm-8pm 5 days a week, including 1 weekend day

Preferred:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Outreach and coordinate with local agencies, government park programs, NGOs, and for-profit businesses to develop new, diverse & engaging recreational opportunities for shelter participating shelter youth/families.
  • Coordinate 4-5 trips/week and lat leastm of 3 Beach House trips/week. Includes picking up youth/families from shelters and transporting them in a van.
  • Facilitate a safe environment for students to step out of their comfort zone and engage with (link removed)>
  • Act as a liaison with partnering shelter staff concerning behavioral concerns and/or incidents occurring during Beach House trips.
  • Assist in the assessment and long-term sustainability of the program
  • Partner with the House Program Coordinator and Program Director to further develop the Beach House/ Home Away From Homelessness Program
  • Provide training, supervision, and evaluation of Beach House volunteers

Above is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors, including experience/education, skillset, and geographic location.
